22 Nonies Have Homes!!!

22 of the Nonies went on to new homes this weekend!!! It was bitter sweet to watch them go, but I'm glad that the Nonies helped bring $110.00 to SAFE. The horse show as a whole was a great success. It's so nice to go to a horse show where you can tell that everyone is having fun, and everyone is enjoying their horses. My favoriate class of course was the Nony Parade. It was too hard to judge so everyone got first place. If I had to pick my favoraite name, it would be a Nony that was born on the 4th of July that her new mom named "Tom Cruise." I laughed out loud.

I heard a kid comment "those would be so easy to make." Sure, if you feel like burning your finger tips off and having a bazillion noodles in your house for two months. BUT!! Do the Nonies that you make at home help Save A Forgotten Equine? Only when you buy a Nony do you help a horse at SAFE!! Every penny that was made went right to the horses.

We still have more Nonies that need homes if you know anyone in the PNW that is looking for a new best friend!

Happy Holidays!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that even with all the fireworks, and noise that NOT ONE Nony spooked at the fire works. Four of them actually came up to me with sparklers in their mouths for me to light. Never a good idea to mix Nonies and fire. They are so smart, they saw the little kids playing with the sparklers and thought it looked fun. I did light a few for them to watch. Kept them busy for a while.

The Nonies are now aware of the S.A.F.E Horse Show. They are getting very excited. A few of them stand in a line while the other ones practice running poles. They are scoring each other for dressage, and they keep moving their empty buckets around to practice barrels. They are really hoping that they get to participate.

If you are interested in doing an adoption before the event please contact me. I can have your Nony groomed, tacked, and ready to go!! All Nony adoptions will be featured on this blog. You also receive a registration number for your Nony with information on how to register your new friend!

In addition to the adoptions of the Nonies, I personally must say that I have a special place in my heart for Thoroughbreds, and that S.A.F.E. has one particular amazing one named Cedar
http://www.safehorses.org/horses/cedar.html that I'd love see find her forever home. She is so beautiful, and if I didn't have Denali (and the fact that my husband would kill me) I'd take her to my barn in a heartbeat... Thoroughbreds are amazing!!!

To see pictures of all the amazing rescue horse awaiting their forever home please visit www.safehorses.org Safe does a WONDERFUL job of rehabilitating horses and I'm proud to make the Nonies to support them!

Adoptable Nonies!

This is Missy!! Our first Adoption! She was adopted 6/13/09 at the S.A.F.E Tack and Bake Sale. She went to a great home, and we hope to see great things from her in the future!! Missy is a 11 year old Nony, and has three foals on the ground who are also up for adoption. They are currently in training and doing great!!

Busted!! This is McDuff (Reg. #001), a 6 year old gelding (he was gelded 5/23/09) He is broke to ride, and does best with an loving rider. He neck reins and loves running patterns. I've started him on Dressage and he is excelling at that also. He is really good at getting out, so a strong fence is suggested. We found him in our garden checking out the lettuce. $5.00 Adoption Fee

McDuff and Felicity at the SAFE Tack and Bake Sale. They are both waiting for their forever homes. Felicity (Reg. #002) is a very sweet horse who has just finished up with 90 days of training. She knows it all and although I don't say it very much I would consider her "bombproof." She loves to jump and although we've only worked on 2'6" fences she clears those with at least a foot.

If you are interested in Adoption of one of these Nonies please contact me at wildponybeast@yahoo.com If you are unable to take in a Nony at this time, consider making a donation to S.A.F.E.

Nonies!!

What is a Nony you ask? A Nony is the best horse a person can own! You don't need to feed them, they can sit for years and when you go to ride them again, they won't have forgotten a thing!

"Washington Nonies are a very versatile breed of pony. Their colors and markings vary from pony to pony, but red, green, blue, and pink are the primary colors of the breed. Their height ranges from 9-10 hands high. They excel at anything they try and are exceptionally loyal to their owners. The owners of Nonies are equally exceptional with their support of horses in need! "

Nonies can be adopted throughout the summer. An adoption fee of 5$ is required for a Nony, and they will come with their very own set of registration papers. Nonies that are adopted will be featured on this blog.

The adoption fee for a Nony goes to S.A.F.E. (Save a Forgotten Equine) to help rescue, rehab, and rehome abandoned, abused, and forgotten horses. As a volunteer for S.A.F.E. I've had the chance to visit the farm and meet the horses. They are all amazing, and most of them came to S.A.F.E. on death's doorstep. It's amazing what a group of volunteers can do! Visit www.safehorses.org for information on the horses that your donation directly goes to help.
